/* The bavarian lakes */
==== The bavarian lakes ====
Another nice area are the bavarian lakes, south east of Munich. Some of those places are reached pretty easy by train, for example '''Lake Tegernsee'''. There is a hourly connection via the "BOB" train (Bayrische Oberlandbahn), which takes about an hour to get from the main train station in Munich to the village '''Tegernsee''' on the lake with the same name. The trip only make sense if the weather is nice, but once you get there, there is a lake with crystal clear water, and some small towns nestled around it. Tegernsee has a casino, if you feel like gambling, but they expect you to dress up. Otherwise, you can cross around the lake in historic boats that run at a certain schedule, or check out the "Hofbraeuhaus " in Tegernsee (yes, they have one too). Best, however, are the views of the steep alpine mountains that start here. You can take similar excursions to other lakes in the alps, like Schliersee or Chiemsee.
